IPR Cell
VISION
To become a world class centre in the field of IPRs and to establish technology for seamless integration of IPR in an evolving institutional framework.
MISSION
To create awareness and provide guidance to academic staff, students and research scholars on the practices regarding intellectual property rights & obligations and to develop an IPR culture compatible with the educational mission of the institute.
OBJECTIVES
- To engage and conduct workshops / seminars / FDPs three times in a semester to promote awareness about IPR.
- To participate in / arrange public meetings of faculty members along with students/ patentees twice per semester for identifying patentable inventions.
- To advise and guide students, scholars and faculty on the procedures of obtaining an IPR, screen projects, make drafts and file patents at least numbering 50 per year.
- To help faculty and students to reply FER for filed patents.
- To assist individual innovators to become technology based entrepreneurs by inculcating the entrepreneurship skill among the students and to develop IP products.
- To make it a point to celebrate the World Intellectual Property day every year.

Organized the IP Clinic 2025 Phase II for Students and Faculty to assist them for drafting, Filing and Publishing the Patent and taken for grant level an expert talk given by Dr.G.Puthilibai / Captain – IPR Cell, Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai-44, Tamil Nadu, conducted by IPR Cell on 28.04.2025 to 30.04.2025.
Expert Talk given by Dr. J.K PRADHAN, Joint Controller of Patents & designs, Indian Patent Office Chennai, Ministry of Commence and industry, Govt of India. on World IP Day Theme of IP and Music Feel the Beat of IP, Invent Design , Protect Inspire, Celebrating IP for a better tomorrow conducted by IPR Cell, Sri Sairam Engineering College,(Autonomous), Chennai on 25.04.2025 @VRR hall between 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Organized a One Week Workshop cum “Intellectual Property Clinic 2024 Phase II Conducted by Intellectual Property Rights Cell Sri Sairam Institutions (Autonomous), Chennai on 31.07.2024 to 6.08.2024.
IPR Cell Inaugrated the TNSCST Sponsored INTELECTUAL PROPERTY CELL and A STATE LEVEL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS on on 25.04.2024 to 26.04.2024 in collabration with Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India to transfer the technological information, Forecasting and Assesment Council.
Conducted one week workshop on Intellectual Property Rights: Patents, Designs, Copyrights, Trademarks & Geographical Indications, under Kapila Scheme and NIPAM for Sri Sairam Engineering College, Sri Sairam Institute of technology and Sairam Medical Colleges on 10.02.2023 to 16.02.2023.
