Fostering Industry–Institution Partnerships: Sairam Institutions Engages with Penang Leadership

Dr. Arun Kumar R, COO of Sairam Institutions, had the privilege of meeting Honourable YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister of Human Capital Development, Science and Technology of the State of Penang, Malaysia. He was accompanied by Mr. J. Philip Vincent, Special Advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang.

The meeting, which lasted about 15 minutes, was followed by a press interaction where YB Jagdeep Singh Deo officially welcomed Sairam Institutions to collaborate with the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) in advancing cooperation in the field of semiconductors.

In his address, the Deputy Chief Minister proudly highlighted that although Penang is geographically smaller than the city of Chennai, it contributes an impressive 8% of global semiconductor production, underlining its pivotal role in the international technology ecosystem.

He also shared his plans to visit Bangalore and Delhi in the coming months. On this occasion, Dr. Arun Kumar extended an invitation to host him in Bangalore, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to strengthening ties and building a mutually beneficial partnership with Penang.

This engagement marks a significant step toward fostering Industry–Institution collaboration, research linkages, and talent development between Malaysia and India, particularly in the fast-growing semiconductor sector.
