VISION
Mitigation planning in advance significantly provides preserving our heritage, limit damage, enhance life safety and Cost-effective solutions.
MISSION
To promote effective communication, collaboration, safety consciousness and critical thinking on disaster management through group discussion, inculcation skills of preparedness, poster-making, article writing, quiz skit performances, projects and mock-drills.
OBJECTIVES
- To organize awareness training program on disaster management and its mitigation process among students (Once a year).
- Encouraging culture of disaster preparedness through fun activities like poster-making, quiz skit performances, projects and mock-drills to the students frequently.
- To provides training program on safety equipment’s-Fire extinguishers to the students and faculties (Once a year).
- Every year to conduct KMPL-Improvement Training to all bus driver (Safety Driving) conducted by PCRA.
- Training the neighborhoods people (adopted villages) in safety aspects.

- On 18.03.2025 & 19.03.2025, the Disaster Management and Safety Club organized a Basic Firefighting Training Program for students and faculty members.
- The training was conducted by Usha Fire Safety Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Temple of Safety, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai, Tamil Nadu – 600058.
- The program focused on fire safety awareness and hands-on emergency response practices.
On 07.11.2024, a Blood Donation Camp was conducted at the institution .Members of the Disaster Management and Safety Club actively participated as volunteers in the program. The volunteers assisted in coordinating donors and ensuring smooth conduct of the camp. Medical professionals supervised the donation process following safety protocols. The camp aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and social responsibility.

The Disaster Management and Safety (DMS) Club participated in the ALERT Being Awards 2025, held at the Anna Centenary Library Auditorium, Chennai. The event took place on 8th February 2025 and highlighted inspiring real-life acts of bravery and emergency response.
Students participated as volunteers in BIS Day on 14/10/24, helping organize the event and assisting with logistics and outreach efforts. Their involvement provided hands-on experience in event coordination and public engagement. The students also gained valuable insights into the standards and initiatives promoted by BIS through active participation.

Students learned disaster management practices and proper use of fire extinguishers.Live fire extinguisher demonstration and mime performance were conducted.The program created awareness about fire safety and emergency response.The event helped students gain practical knowledge and social responsibility.
On 20.09.2023, the Disaster Management and Safety (DMS) Club organized an Awareness to Action event on disaster prevention. Mr. Karl Marx, Assistant Manager of ALERT NGO, served as the resource person for the program.He shared insights on disaster awareness, early detection, and community esilience. Students participated by presenting on various disasters and prevention methods.The event helped create awareness and encouraged proactive measures toward disaster preparedness.
On 26.10.2023, the Disaster Management and Safety (DMS) Club conducted a disaster awareness program at Somangalam Government School. The program aimed to educate school students about disaster preparedness and emergency safety measures. DMS Club students delivered interactive sessions on earthquake safety, first aid, and general disaster awareness. A prize distribution ceremony was organized to encourage and appreciate the active participation of the students. The initiative helped promote disaster awareness and social responsibility among the younger generation.

On 03.12.2023, the Disaster Management and Safety (DMS) Club conducted an online disaster awareness quiz competition for first-year students. The quiz focused on various aspects of disaster preparedness, including earthquakes, floods, and emergency response. Students actively participated and demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in disaster awareness. Certificates were awarded to the winners in recognition of their performance. The event helped promote learning, preparedness, and resilience among students.

On 10.03.2024, the Disaster Management and Safety (DMS) Club organized events in celebration of the 53rd National Safety Week. Various activities such as slogan writing, poster making, and a quiz were conducted to promote safety awareness among students. The program emphasized the importance of personal and public safety through engaging and educational activities. Students actively participated and showcased their understanding of safety practices. The event successfully created awareness and reinforced the importance of safety as a priority.
