Game Development Club
Vision:
To enhance and empower the ability of Sairamities in the cyber wise trendsetting of Games globally.
Mission:
- To trigger the creativity of the students and to cope up with the worldwide trends
- To improve the analytical knowledge of the students in creating and solving puzzles and aptitude.
Goals:
- To categorise the psychology of the gamers and develop the games according to gaming trends.
- To help the new comers learn about game development and gaming.
- To create opportunities and platforms for game developers in India and showcase their talents across the world.
- To make the gamers visually understand the morals and values in the games they develop.
Objectives:
- To train the club members for basic, intermediate and advanced music courses together with the software basics.
- To train the members with all sorts of story development including the character personality, scene setting and other story related articles.
- To make the members learn pixel art, 2D vector graphics, 2D animation, 2D node based graphics and 3D animation.
- To teach the members the basics of programming and new languages such as GDScript, Unity C#, and unreal engine C++ directory

Event name: BLEND-IT-Workshop on Blender

Blend-It was a hands-on workshop conducted by the Game Development Club, focusing on 3D creation using Blender. The session covered key concepts such as modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, and rigging through practical demonstrations. Participants gained valuable skills and hands-on experience essential for game development and 3D design.
Event name: Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC)

The Esports Event at Nehru Stadium was an exciting competitive gaming event that brought together players and spectators in a high-energy arena setting. The tournament featured intense matches that highlighted skill, strategy, and teamwork among participants. It promoted esports culture while fostering sportsmanship and community engagement.

Event name: AR VR – An AR VR Workshop
Date: 29/07/2024
Srivatsan V, handled the hands-on workshop and introduced Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies to the participants, focusing on development, integration, and deployment of immersive experiences. The session covered latest trends, best practices, and challenges, making it valuable for both beginners and experienced developers looking to enhance their AR/VR skills.

Event name: Omen Campus Quest
Date: 19/09/2024 – 20/09/2024
The OMEN Campus Quest at Sri Sairam Engineering College is an initiative by HP to promote e-sports and gaming culture. The event helped participants develop teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills through organized tournaments while offering opportunities to explore professional gaming careers. It also highlighted the role of advanced technology in gaming. The winners of the event were gifted with goodies from HP Omen.

Event name: VEGAS FEST at Kalaivanar Arangam , Triplicane , Chennai.
Date: 28/09/2024 – 29/09/2024
Vegas Fest 2024 was a premier two-day industry event held on September 28–29, 2024, at the Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai, India. Organized by The Visual Effects-Game-Animation Society (VEGAS), it served as a major hub for the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sectors. The festival attracted over 6,400 attendees, ranging from industry veterans to aspiring students. Its primary goal was to showcase creative and foster collaboration through Expert Master Classes, Cutting-Edge Tech: Showcasing on AI, digital humans, and high-precision display technology .Workshops on stop-motion animation and game development, alongside competitions in photography and filmmaking.

Event name: Code and Conquer
Date: 21.2.25 and 22.2.25 Online Event
Code N Conquer was a two-day virtual hands-on workshop by the Game Development Club that introduced first- and second-year students to game development using tools like Unity, Blender, and Scratch. The event focused on core concepts such as 3D modeling, animation, scripting, and game design through guided sessions and live demos. Participants gained practical experience, built technical confidence, and received e-certificates for their active involvement.
Event name: Slash-and-Hack
Date: 8/10/2023(8.00 a.m – 8.00 p.m)
Slash-and-Hack provided a platform for game developers, designers, and enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and technical skills. The event featured two rounds: abstract submission in the first week and game topic preparation for the 12-hour hackathon on 08/10/2023. Participants developed their games within the given timeframe and presented them for evaluation. A week later, winners were announced and awarded certificates, along with the privilege to select an asset for the upcoming Game Development Club project.

Event name: Club Day 2023-2024
Date: 08.11.2023(1.25 p.m to 4.00 p.m)
The Game Development Club celebrated its First Anniversary on November 8, 2023, with 120 members in attendance. Mr. Suyambuvishal S S (Zoho Corp) graced the event as the chief guest. Dr. R. Uma, the club captain, highlighted key achievements and future goals. Winners of the Bug Bounty and Slash-and-Hack competitions were recognized, followed by a feedback session and closing remarks from Dr. R.Valarmathi, the club coordinator.
Event name: UNREAL ENGINE WORKSHOP AT MONOLITH TECHNOLOGIES
Date: 15.4.2024 – 19.4.2024
This five-day workshop provided an immersive learning experience, introducing participants to the fundamentals of Unreal Engine and the skills needed to create interactive 3D environments and games. Through hands-on exercises and structured lectures, attendees progressed from basic concepts to advanced development techniques, gaining practical experience in game design and 3D visualization.

Event name: EVOLUTION OF AR AND VR TECHNOLOGIES
Date: 24.4.2024
The workshop was handled by Mr. S. Lelin Lal from Sairam Techno Incubator Foundation which provided students with insights into the advancements in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). It covered AR/VR development, immersive technology principles, and interactive application creation, bridging the gap between theory and practice. The session aimed to equip participants with valuable knowledge about the evolving AR/VR landscape.
