On April 25 and 27, 2025, the Leo Club, along with the NSS and Scouts & Guides units of Sri Sairam Institutions, conducted a household socio-health survey and a free medical camp at Sethupattu Village, collecting data from over 150 households on income, education, health, and sanitation, and providing free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, eye care, and general health. These initiatives showed key areas for intervention, raised awareness on preventive healthcare, and strengthened student volunteers’ community engagement skills. Continuing its service efforts, on August 13, 2025, the club donated a wheelchair to Mr. K. Sarangan, a 65-year-old resident of Thirumudivakkam Village Panchayat, enhancing his mobility and independence, with a follow-up planned to ensure suitability.
On April 28, 2025, the NSS, Scouts and Guides, and Leo Club units of Sri Sairam Institutions conducted a Disaster Management and Fire Prevention Training session at Sethupattu Village, covering safe evacuation during fires, proper use of fire extinguishers, first aid for burns and injuries, and safety measures during natural disasters like floods and earthquakes. Villagers and students received hands-on experience with fire safety equipment and basic rescue operations, resulting in increased confidence, critical knowledge of emergency practices, and heightened awareness of personal and community safety.
On April 25, 2025, student volunteers from the Leo Club, NSS, and Scouts & Guides of Sri Sairam Institutions organized a Yellow Bag Rally at Sethupattu Village to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living by encouraging the use of eco-friendly yellow cloth bags over plastic. The rally involved walking through the village, raising slogans, distributing cloth bags, and engaging residents in discussions about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. The event successfully increased environmental consciousness, inspired many villagers to adopt the distributed cloth bags, and strengthened community participation in environmental initiatives for a cleaner, greener village.
On April 30, 2025, a Waste Segregation Awareness Campaign was held to educate the local community on the importance of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste for better waste management.
